ignitor change to GM HEI

I saw in another post this week about the use of GM HEI components in place of the ignitors that are used in first gen distributors.
How do you hook this up. Do I get improved spark? How hard is it to do, help please!

Goto the 1st gen section and do a search for "direct fire". Weed thru those and you will find the one I'm thinking of. It has exactly what your asking with a picture of two.
