What's the trouble? Pull all the bolts holdnig it on, and it comes right out..
2 bolts on the far left and far right edges, near the front of the doors
3 bolts holding the front on under the defroster vents (1 screw and some pop clips holding that on)
2 bolts holding up the steering column to the dash (14mm)
4 bolts holding the dash to the trans tunnel
Remove the guage panel (bloody knuckles)
There's electrical connectors on the drivers side, and on the passenger side up high, once you can pull the dash out a bit, the passenger side connector is visible.
Sure, you can mount the guage panel, if you can fab up some brackets.. And you'll have to figure out a way to hold the steering rack up (no big deal there) But if you're going to that extreme, might as well go aftermarket guages and build your own panel anyway.
Oh, and don't forget, the VIN plate removal will make the car non street legal.
