help with 3 rotor build

hey everyone. this is going to sound weird but i got in on a race for pink slips but it takes place in about2 yrs and 6 months. its going to happen at the gainsville drag strip. i will be raceing a 03 gt with 700 hp, a fox body mustang with a blue printed motor( vauge i know but its in the prossces of being built) and my bros 05 mustang that he is shooting for 600hp. heres me question, i want to get a fc shell completly gutted and with a turbo bridge 20b. i have almost 3 years to build it but i need to know what to get. i know the motor, either a microtech or haltech, front mount and the other support mods but im mostly asking if i need a diffrent rear end or tranny. any adivce would be aprectiated. thanks

Gabe

First save up aprox 10K so you can start this project

Also, 3 years to build a foxbody and only shooting for 600hp? You could buy that motor out of a summit catalog...

Play it smart don't waste money building anything.

Who the hell is going to remember a date to race at the drag strip in 2 year 6 months from now?

Hell you could setup the whole car through the summit catalogue lol. Motor, trans, bulletproof diff setup, MT's, etc. Part of the fun of building a car is trying to round up the parts you need, which can be pretty tough sometimes...

If this race did take place, it would probably be more economical to lose.

If you want to race competitively: The cheapeast way to have a chance at it would be a cammed LS1 with straight through exhuast and a stripped to hell interior. It would probably cost around $5-7k plus the cost of a roll cage. Going the turbo 20b route, although arguably more badass, would probably cost a lot more. Also, get an automatic race transmission. Last thing you want to do is miss a gear and lose your car.

If you want to screw them over: By an FC running on its last legs. Blow your engine and lose the race. Let the winner pay to have the car towed.

I didn't know there was that much rednecks on this forum? He ask for an advise on building a turbo 20B not the cheapest way to redneck a race car. Get a 20B or 13B large streetport T88 or gt42 with a 8.8 or 9" rearend using a stock TII tranny. Haltech or Microtech is fine and get it tuned, you need around 600rwhp to be competive. Good luck.

And who the hell thinks the other guys aren't going to be making their cars faster in the meantime?

well first.. it is moronic to race for slips.. but if ur gonna do it.. go as cheap as possible..i think it would be funny as hell to build up a na motor into a turbo motor and hit it with like a 300 shot of nitrous.. somethin that u can deliberatly destroy and make the one who wins pay for it..
i would not do that to a 7 tho..
use a mustang or a civic.. or somethin dont give 7s a bad rap for losin..

If you're gonna waste a car for a pink slips race, you'd be better off using a crappy old IROC with a turbo kit or something. RX-7's are not exactly drag strip monsters (at least not for the same amount of cash invested).
