helmet m2000?

I ordered a helmet thinking it was SA2000 rated but it is only M2000 rated. Question: Should I send it back for an SA2000 rated helmet or will the one I have be okay? I plan on doing autox for a few years so I want it to be legal for a couple of years.

Thanks,
Bryan

Was it a Simpson? I had the same problem when I ordered a mine - I sent it back for a refund but ended up having to pay shipping both ways :-(

If you ordered/paid for an SA2000 helmet, you dern well better be getting one! SA-rated helmets are generally more expensive and are designed to better protect your noggin inside a car. And make sure they pay for shipping ... it's their screw-up; they should pay for it.

He said he would take care of it so I hope he does. Shipping was only a couple of bucks though so its really no skin off my back as long as I get it before the 12th, my first autox event

My MixUp w/ Simpson was a misinterpetation of their online catalog - They list all their helmets as Snell approved however SA or M are BOTH Snell standards. Simpson only puts the SA rating on their NOMEX lined helmets , even though I believe that the NYLON lined ones use the same SHELL construction.
When Simpson lists Snell aproval they mean M-xxxx, for their SA helmets they list SA-xxxx , on the Helmet I ordered I read SNELL and assumed SA.

I actually emailed him and he told me it was SA2000 however when I got it the number on the back was M2000. When I talked to him over the phone he appoligized and could not believe that he made the mistake. Anywho, its all straighten out. I did not think that I could get one for $150 that was SA approved. Oh well, I guess I was just hoping

Aren't most auto-X only requiring that it be snell standard? That's all they look for in TX and in Fl.
