VA Half Bridgeport?

Is a half bridgeport more reliable than a full bridgeport? I keep seeing people one the web that have done "half" bridgeports on their rotary engine. Does this have a better longevity than the full bridgeport? Thanks

It depends on how the ports are cut.

all things equal it'll last just as long.

but, it'll make power higher in the rpm range. so you'll revv it higher, which increases wear.

every 1000rpms over 8000rpms, wear is exponential. and your hair will catch fire.
