Was standing right on the inside of turn 1 when the camaro didnt tap his brakes up on the main straight. Punted Foster in dempsy's car and then proceeded to launch over the tire wall and down the hill. Crazyiest think ive ever seen up close and personal.

I was there with RockLobster and another one of our buddies, it was crazy to watch that right in front of us. Overall a great weekend of racing to watch.

 

In car video from the Camaro that hit Joe Foster in the RX8. Original story I heard was a stuck throttle. You can clearly hear in the video this was not the case.

After watching it in person, on replay about 10 times and listening to some bits from the team when they were loading up the car. Our best guess was that he had pad knock-back and didnt tap the brakes up on the straight, like i said. Went to brake for 1 and the pedal went long. He panicked and stabbed the brakes 2-3 times. On the last stab he locked up the brakes. You can see the car dives at least twice before it slides off under full lockup...

Sound like the verdict was, rear brakes went, causing the pedal to go very long and abruptly lock up the fronts...
