Question FC rear wings

I'm transitioning my EP car away from SCCA and was curious, now that I have no restriction, on whether anyone has any experience/pictures/suggestions on rear wings and their mounting on FC's?

Get it up high, almost as high as the roof if you want clean air and maximum downforce from the wing.

Thanks, mostly trying to find out if anyone makes one that doesn't require fabrication to mount...

Lots of wings, mostly jdm ones come with a version for the fc(mounts and all). cusco, gp sports ect.
I have the knight sports single flap wing which uses some of the stock mounts.
It is 2 way adjustable and imo looks good on an fc. But it is $ and is a touch on the rice side at least on a daily driver
To be honest i would look at Front and rear diffusers and canards before a spoiler

So that's your car?! Beautiful! Don't recall where I saw pictures of it, but i was admiring it.
There are a lot of options, but for a specific fc gt wing you're looking to spend a lot (with the mounting base made for the fc). For the type of racing you do I recommend the following..

GP Sports (Chokets wing, universal):
http://www.cwgsy.net/private/madcar/...GT%20Wings.htm
http://www.gpsports.co.jp/product/chok/3d165.html

Feed, Top Secret, Odula http://www.odula.com/page/frame.htm, RE Amemiya, Pan Speed, R-Magic...

Other leading companies that make good looking and functional gt wings are Sard and Voltex (both have universal wings). Note that all of these companies/shops are from Japan.

I'm running with the RE Amemiya GT type II wing.

Yeah, who does have the ultimate RE hookup in North America? I know that spoiler is available in FRP or Carbon. I'd love an FRP model.

The RE A. wing is on my track car. Since I was going to paint it, I opt for the frp version. (weight the same as the wet carbon version) Total was $1,255 shipped to my door; waited for 8 weeks. I ordered it through Rotary Extreme when they were around. Well worth every penny, trust me. The many will say that's a waste/a lot of money just for a wing, but good stuff don't come cheap.

There are plenty of places you can order through. Now that the industry is so much bigger, jdm oem and aftermarket parts are not hard to get anymore. Maybe AutoRND can get it, FDnewbie, Corksport, Bulletproof Automotive, Vivid Racing, RHD Japan, and the list goes on.. Hope that helps.

I've been getting a lot of pm's about pictures of it on my car, how big it actually is, the diameter, etc. I'll post some pics here. Maybe it's the picture but it's no wider than the car's body. Same height of the roof. Can be adjusted 5 different degree angles. Bolts down to the rear with two bolts on each base. Drilling and good measurement is required. Comes with instructions also.

why not also focus on the airflow underneath the car.

That would be another great topic.

Yes, in carbon. Will be adding kevlar side and center bowtech generators, once they arrive.

speaking of under body airflow (Cyber Evo):

I've yet to see any real data on the "JDM" wings that many people get. At what angle are they producing maximum downforce? At what angle are they creating minimum drag? How is the airfoil profile tailored to work with the air coming from the back of an FC? How is it tailored to extract air from under the rear of the car? What kind of lift/drag ratio does the wing have?

Other than being "3D", carbon fiber, and sweet looking, I'm not sure these wings do much.

Really? I thought that it was beyond debate that properly engineered ground effects, wings, diffusers and canards had potentially huge effect on downforce and handling.

Unfortunately the huge popularity of rice style wings has created a market for wings that look good but have no or engineering behind them meaning they will have little if any positive effect and more likely than not will actually have and adverse effect.

As to optimal wing settings. I think it is unanswerable because there are hundreds of factors to consider making it different for every vehicle

i'm almost positive RE Amemiya have no R&D!
And I'm sure their time attack FC can clock a 58 sec on Tsukuba without that ridiculous GT wing and diffuser. Just my theory..

some company with lower budget do R&D of their aerodynamic by comparing track time between the same driver
if the driver always drive a 58 on the same track in the same car theres a sudden drop to 56 then they would determine that product works

well ... some other company just put a bodykit on there for look.

same goes with the wing

Seeming as you have a lot more Re-A stuff than me I am sure you are right, but I thought the second shop in the Chiba prefect was created for larger testing facilities, plus their racing program has been running for over 2 decades. I would class that in itself as R&D
