Ah if only I was in Florida!
That throttle body holds some interesting secrets.
And thanks for uploading the pictures!
This will be so interesting to see as a complete package.

It's good to see that "PT-109" is getting more mods. It's like the Joan Rivers of race cars, lol. I doubt that Hiram ever expected his car to make it this far.
Woohoo! Let me know the dates! Even after planning for DGRR, Christmas, etc., I still have 3 weeks of paid vacation that I need to burn up this year.

Things were quiet with the car this last weekend. Son turned 18, and was working on the deck. But took her out for a couple rides. Checking and re-checking the brakes and driveline, to verify nothing is loose, and or working loose.

Well wanted to give a small update...
I took the car up to NC for the DGRR.. and had it on display..
Kinda rainy on Saturday.. but late afternoon it stopped raining for a while, so decided to take my oldest through the gap, and see how the brakes felt for a nice mellow ride.
As it turns out we were going there, and it started raining.. so we were passing tons of people leaving the gap area.. and when we finally got to the motorcycle resort.. things qwere pretty quiet.. but the roads were DRY. It wasnt raining at the gap/tail.
We got some gatoraid, and were getting in the car to go through the gap and realised that nobody had gone through for around 10 minutes.. so off we went!! EMPTY ROAD WOOOHOO!
****NOTE... I do not condone driving like a dumbass on public roads. Like I did. The gap is a really unique place, with ZERO side roads, houses, people, and or obstacles. There is a measure of oncoming traffic etc. Id rather not get into the arguement of driving hard on the gap. Thats for a different thread. Its a unique section of road. All I can say.. if you ever have the chance to drive it.. make sure you take the time to do so. It is mroe worth it than I can express.*******
As I had been going through all the sweepers and nice turns and deceleration areas on 28 leading to 129.. I was very confident in the brakes at normal street and spirited street levels.
Once on the gap.. for those that have not driven it.. picture a autocross on crack. Its 1-3rd gear in the FB. At times there are stretches for 4th but very few.. and the 1st gear turns after those are VEWRY tight decreasing radius, on camber turns with a pop at the exit, where it turns into a sharp 30.... to 270 degree turn the opposite direction.. SO... hauling *** in 4th was not only silly and kinda pointless.. but dangerous.
The brakes.. were... EXCELLENT! I was incredibly surprised at how well they held up on the hard push.
I was previously using the stock brakes with ducts and hawk blues.
For the gap trip I decided to try EBC Greens, on the FC rotors and calipers.
Braking with the FB master cylinder took my foot about 1/4 to 1/2 inch further than I was used to, but the pedal was firm without being hard like I like.. BUT.. If I pressed hard.. it could lock up the wheels at whatever speeds I liked. (Granted there were crappy tires on it.. but still not bad)
The big test.. without brake ducts.. was to be brutal on the brakes, and see how they faded. IF they faded.
As the mile markers ticked away.. they didnt fade a BIT. Not even a tiny bit of fade.. Which was very surprising.
By mile marker 6 I was beginning to smell them in tighter corners that were 1st gear... But still zero fade.
I was incredibly hard on it.. braking as hard as I could on the track.
The end result?? I would have to say that I wouldnt hesitate to try the ebc greens on the track. I cant guarantee they will last a 45 minute sprint.. but for the 11 miles at 10/10 in curves with a lot of lower speed hardddd braking.. they were perfectly fine.
SO..
Upgrades for the FB.. brakes... CHECK. (still gonna do something with the brake master.. even though it was fine)

Ah crap! I was there on Saturday and I didn't even recognize your car.
It was good luck with the rain, huh? I went for a ride in my buddies LT1 fd on Saturday and we encountered the same thing:dry and empty roads . It was awesome blasting around seeing the fog rolling on the mountains and lakes.
I'm glad the brakes held up great too.

Yeah Saturday I was kinda scarce.. woke a little late and was staying out of the rain. Was a great trip though. Love NC.
Next time around we will have to say hi.

Update time!
So its DGRR time again.. and my son Taylor and I decided that having big tires was gonna be the ticket this year. Being able to put 12A power down wasnt hard.. but upgrading to the other engine will cause massive traction issues.. so going with more meat on the ground is first priority.
In order to do that.. the only realistic options for the widebody were either
A. Some sort of Ebay 1" wider fenders...
B. The standard fenders you see on many of the Eprod cars.. that has a flare that comes up the side of the fender. ALA the ISC Eprod FB.. and even the Malibu Grand Prix FB/SAs. With the front fender with the odd ramp thing.
C. Japco Raceglass fender.. whoever the name is now. Its a wide fender.. but odd shape to me.
D. And my personal lust... the Mariah GTO kit. Its a full body.. and also like 4500 IIRC.
E. Something... Else.
So were going with SOmething elsee....
I have a lot of pics I will try to get posted tomorrow. But in a nutshell.. were making a buck/plug. Thats on the factory fenders.. Then when the fenders are shaped to how we like.. and the splitter is in place.. etc.. Glass them and pull Molds off them.
Then pop out a set of bodywork.. and bolt em on for DGRR.
And 5 weeks I think.. is where we are to get it done. Wheeeeeeee Nothing like a tight timeline!
The plan will be a more high Downforce option.. With the fenders being wide, and having the rear of the front fender by the front edge of the door vented.
Rear fenders will also be vented as well.
Width.. 4" wider than stock.
Currently have some 15"x7" rims with cantilevered EP slicks for reference in there now. Tread is 10" wide.
I have some 17x8" wide street front rims, and 17x9" wide read rims I will likely use for DGRR. (Need to shod them with some low profile rubber first.)
Early pics to follow tomorrow!

Little Quick update..
We made a ton of progress on things.. but didnt get it finished in time for DGRR.
SO
We will be bringing the crazy motor with some historical info on it.. and no RX-7s.
1971 Lola 240B was the chassis it was in. I will ahve more documentation and pics when we get to DGRR.
