Question Driving Trouble

I have a 87 T2 and am looking into doing some autox and currently pratice alittle dirting around where i live (not on public roads) Well my problem is im 6'4. And for me to heal-toe down shift in my car is impossible. Now im looking at getting some racing pedals with the heal-toe gas pedal. I should be able to use the side of my foot to tap that while braking. But if any of you experienced guys have any advice for some better driving technique. I was thinking about getting a smaller steering wheel, but i dont have P/S and im afarid a smaller wheel would make turning in my car hell. Help---Steve
