Daytona 24 anyone?

Hello all, anyone else going to the Rolex 24 this year?
This is our third year attending. We will be in Fri. for the Koni race as well.
Any race fan out there would have a great time. There are 5?? or more 3 rotor RX8's in GT this year. The sound of these cars is absolutley fantastic.

Pratice is going on now and you can check results on the Grand AM website.
Three mazdas in the top six this morning and the top twelve in GT seperated by less than a second, truely great racing!!
I will be in the Champions Club again this year, hope to see some of you at the track.

Jim

At the airport now in Orlando. Just finished test days with our BMR Racing Koni RX8's. Things went well and we ended up fastest in the final session after chasing an ABS problem since the end of the first session on Fri. If anyone is making it to the race feel free to stop by and check out the cars and the gang. Not as snazy as those GT cars but pretty cool none the less. Jim is right about the GT cars sound wise. You can hear them all the way around the track.

I had some friends from ROAR Racing down there this weekend with their 2 KONI RX-8 cars. Sounds like it was good weekend for the Eights all around.

Yup that #50 is one of ours. We also have the #51 and a BMW Z4 but are looking to replace it with another 8. The HRP world guys had a rough weekend. The car pictured above got off light with a blow trans. Of there two GT Corvetts one burned on Sta. and the other hit the wall coming into the tri oval at 175mph!

HAHAH, yeah I was in the second pit stall when that thing came rolling by in pit lane, kinda sketchy right front flopping and rear axle attached by maybe....a brake line and a drive shaft at the most.

It's just cheaper and more flights into Orlando. Short drive. I do some audits in Daytona and always fly into Orlando.

Good luck John. I hope they put the Koni race on TV at some point. Let's hope no one else trashes their cars.

When flying, don't forget the Orlando/Sanford Airport. If Allegiant has flights near you, they are VERY cheap. I flew to NC for $38 round trip. And, it is closer to Daytona than Orlando International.

I'll be there with ROAR Racing. Come by and check us out if you want. Please come and introduce yourself. Unless I'm a$$ deep inside the differential like at Laguna, I'll be happy to chat.

I'm also staying for the 24 hour race, so it would be great to hang out with the rotary crowd.

Wish I could make it down! Adam hangs out with on the NC Rotaries forum quite a bit.

If what I read is correct there are 11 RX-8s in the KONI race tomorrow and 6 in the ROLEX race Saturday. Man I wish I could be there for both races.
