Congratulations Andrew McKee!!!
For finishing second in his 93 FD at the SCCA Solo National Championships in SM2 class!! It’s good to see an Rx kick a little but Z06 butt every now and then.

Andy Mckee had a faster time on the North Course I think but Gary Thomason in a Z06 had a faster time on the other course. Gary had a 107.135 combined time and Andy had a 107.310. SM2 had a fierce field this year with contenders like Bill Buetow and LJ Moffet in a Z06, Dan Pedroza and Jeremy Shuster in Miatas and Scotty White in an ASP Viper. Talk about a tough class. Andy won it last year but he probably isn't complaining about getting 2nd against all those guys.

I just got back from Topeka last night. It was awsome to watch Mckee and Thomason battle it out. Andy's car just takes a set and just rockets foward. I thought he was going to pull it out but Thomanson pulled it out in his last run. The announcer said exactly what time Gary needed to win. Everyone was watching it on the edge of their seats and then the board flickered Gary's time and half the crowd cheered and half slumped. It was great to be there for it.

Nice meeting other RX7 enthusiasts in Topeka. It always impresses me with how much they both love and know about their cars.

Just go to a regional SCCA event and you can probably ride with a pro. Heck I am having 2 national champions co-drive my car with my girlfriend and I this weekend and I suck at driving.

Here's a photo. Wheels are 17x11 front, 17x12 rear. Backspacing is 7.5". Front is 1 piece CF from 7parts.com, which gives a couple inches each side more fender clearance. Rear flares are from Pettit.

Congrats Andy, your car always turns heads, especially when you turn it up for your last runs and shoot fire at the courseworkers! Somehow I've managed to be working on course every time I've seen you run (Atwater, San Diego, Wendover, etc), we all stop our conversations when you go by!
Missed Nationals this year due to business here, but we recently picked up an '89 GTUs for the new STS2 class (at least for ProSolo, anyway).
