Compbrake FD dual master cylinder
I have a dedicated race car. I'm currently running a proportioning valve, 929 master, wildwood sl6 fronts on 12 7/8th x 1.25 rotors, 99 spec rear rotors, with wilwood NDL 4 piston rears. I raced for 10+ seasons in NASA and won several South East series championships with this setup with ABS. I always felt it was too biased to the front brakes and I would crack coleman front rotors every other weekend or so. Yes they are 3" ducted...
I got t-boned in 10A at road Atlanta and between that and having a kid I haven't been playing with the car much.
In fixing the car I decided to make some major changes to the car so I could drift it and also continue to race. The car now has a wisefab front end. This setup widened the front track of the car by 5 inches. I also had to delete the ABS for this setup.
I'm currently testing with a proportioning valve. I might keep that but I would prefer a dual master setup for in-cabin adjustment and the limitations inherent in proportioning valves.
I saw the Compbrake setup. It is allegedly a 5:1 ratio. You can buy it with or without M/C but it is spec'd to run AP which is what I would want to run anyway. I'll sort out what size MC I need based on my calipers and weight.
Does anyone have experience with it? How is the build quality and fit? Is 5:1 ratio working for you? If not what pedal ratio does work?
I know I could buy some Tilton pedals and fabricate a way to install them. I like the FD petals and would prefer to keep them if possible plus not having to pay a fabricator a bunch of cash and wait around for 4 months for them to get around to it would be nice....
