for the record the jerico is about $6000 by the time you buy some extras. We are on our 4th season and its holding 700 rwhp 20b turbo, roadrace application, with a cooler.

I'm running a T5 with the G-Force road race gearset (straight cut and dog engaged) I'm onto my third year with it. Last year when I had it apart everything looked quite good. I think if you shift hard and fast, the box can go a long time between overhauls. My FC is putting down about 400 rwhp through 280/30/18 slicks and the transmission is a thing of beauty. The rumor is that G-Force has stopped making the Road race ratio in a straight cut dog setup, so I'm not really happy about what the future holds. If the box lets go, it's likely to need complete replacement.
If I had it all to do over again, I'd probably get the Jerico, just for the reconfigurability of the gears ratios and the excellent reputation.
I've also been contemplating the Stock Car IRS at:
http://www.1speedway.com/irs_quickchange.htm
Quickly swap rear end ratios to suit the track and be certain the diff can handle the abuse.

Racingdriver - Could you please advise the model, ratios & fitment of the jerico that you are running at present, maintainance required ie every meeting pull down/check or once/twice a season.
The extras you mention, I assume are additional ratios etc.
Who do we contact for futher info.
Many Thanks.

The tranny is about $5000, but its $675 for the shift mechanism, $250 for the mazda adapter, and $200 for the yoke. On top of that a clutch that fits the shaft, and a tilton throw out bearing. Shifts are super quick.
I use the clutch when shifting and am easy on the gears, we looked inside it last year and only replaced the bearings as they were run too hot due to not using a cooler from the start. It only hold .9 of a litre so a cooler is absolutely a neccessity, even though Jerico says its only "recommended".
My ratios are 2.61, 1.90, 1.56, 1.23, 1.0 . Unfortunately it only comes with a 1.0 5th gear and that is a problem at the long straight of Portland and Seattle. I will run a 3.7 cobra rear end this year and see how that goes.
If I had the money i would recommend the Hewland mve ste.
trent, whats up with our indy video and next years race at edmonton???

As usual, I would expect the video to be ready when we show up for this year's event.
Last I heard on the race, the NASCC guys were meeting with the Octane group and they had an initial proposal to put on the race. The track is different this year, the front (and back) straight is crazy long, with no chicane. Here's a few images on it:

On the old track front straight I was hitting 100 mph before the chicane and 128 mph in the second half before braking for the corner. With the straight basically the same length, then a hairpin and then a longer back straight, I'm imagining speed in the 140-145 range for me, which puts me well into my .90 (5th) overdrive gear with the 4.10 rear. I would imagine you will see a fair bit faster.
Best,
-Trent

Ok guys. I've got to ship them a full gearset and shafts. so if anyones interested let me know. otherwise I'll just drop the idea.
Anyway, I'm very disappointed with the US presence or rather the lack of a US presence in the F1 world. I mean we finally get a dedicated track, but still no team of our own. Even India has a team..... Spain has a team. US manufacturers specifically ford need to step their game up.

Well, we used to have a USF1 team but they were crack pipe optimistic about designing and building the car themselves on time. F1 tickets are overpriced and in this economy finding a sponser to fork out the dough is a streach. Highcroft can't even get a full season sponsorship in LMP1 and they're a top notch prototype team!

We have a couple of E Production FB's running Jerico 4spd and they are working great. They are used NASCAR 4spd boxes that have lightened gears and gun drilled shafts. Ratios are typically 1.8, 1.5., 1.2, 1.0. They use all four gears on the track. Cheaper than a Jerico 5spd. Charlie at KC Raceware has one in his car. www.kcraceware.com

If you could get this done at around the price estimate, it would be a dream come true for a lot of us, but while your at it, can you find out about making a new casting of the initial box..billet maybe? The problem with high hp rotarys running the stock boxes is that the gears tend to "spread" and break the case open while in gear and rpm..
If I may make a suggestion; give Ari, ITO, Enzo etc.. a call or anyone(shop) who drag race FD's on a consistent basis to find out what plagues them with the stock gearbox. Granted you have people who have been racing with the stock box successfully for year...
