peejay is right. When the hood is unlatched, it raises up about 6 inches, and it changes the airflow across the hood and across the windshield. Pressure graphs of an FC with the hood closed does not apply to an SA or FB with the hood unlatched.
On a stock SA or FB, their is a lot of air pressure in the engine compartment and the hood will raise up if unlatched, AND drag will decrease and top speed will increase about 3 to 5 mph.
On an SA or FB with a full ground hugging race airdam, there is less air pressure under the car and more air pressure on top of the hood than a stock bodied car.
