In-car footage

Hi guys

I was at the track again on Sunday for the last round of the Winter Series (New Zealand - Manfield) but this time with a GoPro, check out race 1.

http://youtu.be/CGPl1X-Psy0

It was an interesting day, I was testing some new plugs to see if that would allow me to run some more boost, they did but the car developed a vibration during qualifying - so I finished up at P22 out of 31 in the GT division.

The vibration - turned out to be loose bolts attaching the drive shaft to the diff - problem solved :-)

Race one - started 22nd, car ran well and I got through to 16th - happy with that ...

Race two (50 mins enduro) - I shared this with another guy running a volvo (yes, cough cough), he came in after 20 mins with a damaged radiator fan (blades penetrating the radiator) so I had 30 mins to do. Completed 23 laps and we got 4th - nice!

In the pits - there's a bit of oil dripping from the diff - mmm - let's take a look at that, Oh - it's pretty much dry and now has some slop - bugger, put the car back in the trailer ...

Anyone got any thoughts on diffs - what should I put in?

Cheers
Shaun

Nice video!

As for the diff, Kaaz is fairly popular to some of the road racing guys here in the US:

OS Giken offers a setup for the FD:

There is also Cusco and a few other brands, but I'm not too familiar with the others:

Thanks re the video - loving watching it myself to spot all the mistakes, that has to help bring the lap times down.

Thanks for the diff options - will take a look at those.

It was the last round of the series, so I've got a bit of time to make a call on which way to go.
