camera mounts - how i get my footage

here is some info on how I get the footage from outside the car using cup camera mount:

pics of the mount:

here is a link where you can get them:
http://shop.store.yahoo.com/cinemasu...uccupmoun.html

the one in the pics is called 'The Gripper' and has a 6" cup, it can hold 70lbs so it easily holds our smaller cannon gl1 3ccd digital video camera, even at 135 mph into turn 1 at BIR. you could also use somthing like the 'gripper proball' if you dont need a lot of adjustability ( http://shop.store.yahoo.com/cinemasu...pprob308m.html )

the violent vibration is very hard on the camera and sometimes affects the footage....so, In the near future I plan on gettin a few more smaller sucktion cups that have rods that can connect to an adapter that goes where the light would go on the camera... so that you can triangulate the camera to the car, making it very stable...

I also suggest making a plexiglass sheild for the cam lense:

Cool, but I can't believe they let you run that on the track... does something secured w/ a suction cup pass tech?

If so, i'm gonna suction-cup a rear wing on for my events...

remember, these cups are made for this, they are not made to hold a wing :-)

i also use some other cords in case the cup fails.

yeah i know what you mean. when i get the mount, i am going to pick up some aluminum dowls (spelling??) at home depot, so i can make the additional support bars for better stablilty. i already have some heavy duty suction cups that i got from a suction cup manufacturer, but i have been waiting to find a good price on the main mount. thanks again for the link to the good price!
