I suppose the EVO 2 would come in handy in the off chance you possibly let someone else drive the car.
Plus,
I would imagine the extra space the EVO has provides less support.

Nice man, everything is looking good. What's been the hardest part about the swap so far?

Hardest part? parting with lots of money and being without my car for almost 2 years! Honestly everything else so far has gone rather smoothly.

In other car related news, I may have a sweet deal setup on a 48' enclosed trailer for pretty cheap, so that will make hauling both the cars to the track a lot easier, and give us a place to sleep if we want to camp at the track.

What an awesome build!!!! I'm building a LS1 FD myself and look forward to the samberg kit. I'm going with a dry sump setup & these threads are a blast to view. I love the progress of your build. Good work!!

got the wheels and brakes out today. Ran some -10AN braided hose for the accusump, and the wire for the battery to the back of the car. Put the driveshaft on and started looking at what we need to do with the exhaust. few pics from today

Hope to get the rear brakes on tomorrow, put the new harmonic balancer on, power steering pump and pully, alt bracket and alt, also going to re route the oil cooler lines because they are too close to the alternator.

Test fitted the radiator

Set the car down and grabbed a few shots before we left.

Hoping to head back out again in a couple of weeks.

Glad I found this thread. If you have pictures of the oil cooler/accusump install I would love to see them. I'm currently getting my car ready for the track. The last thing I need to install is the accusump and oil cooler. Otherwise I need to get the power steering pump ported. Then it'll be ready for track duty.

Fritz, was that "taste" bitter ? All kidding aside, are you going to build/find a LSx FD now ?

After look through this thread, I'm getting more & more convinced, as a properly built turbo 20B is going to be $30K+ to do it right . . .

I've never had aspirations for a 3 rotor turbo but I think a 3 rotor NA would be super cool but not very practical. Economically the 13b with a little journal bearing turbo is hard to beat.

Yep it's for sale but I can't drop 40k on it. No real place to race it other than what you or me (and maybe 10 other people in the country would want it for) and 10k more buys a really well prepped 996 (w/ lots of spares and 3 sets of wheels) or possibly even a beat up 996 cup and 10k less buys a c5 t1 car so that sort of money for a track FD doesn't make sense.
