Can verts race SCCA?
I am trying to decide what to with my new vert. I cant start my project till I decide what the finish is going to be. I always wanted a track car and I think I found the perfect car for it, 1988 convertible. Cant find a answer on the most important question. Can I race SCCA ITS class or any class with this car? the only thing i found in the rule for ITS class is;
"Note: Convertible model cars are permitted if they
were only available as convertibles (e.g. MG Midget), or if the
convertible model is specifically allowed on the vehicle spec line."
The second part of this quote is the part I cant get a grip on. If anyone has positive answer or knows how to get it please post.
Thanks for the help, Joe

We have one running in EP from my shop. They are a little, wait, a lot heavier than the coupe. The cool thing is you can remove the windshield as well. The car is still about 200lbs heavier than a comparably prepped coupe though.
The biggest expense from ITS to EP is the addition of a required fuel cell and fire system. Other than those things you can run a bone stock street car with a cage in EP you will just get lapped a lot. The rules are the limits of prep, not the minimums(except for the safety items mentioned).
