Anyone weigh their cage before installing it?
I just purchased a Autopower bolt in full cage and weighed it and it is about 170 lbs from the best weight I can get.
Any others?
Thanks,
Bart

I have done several searches and I know that you and I have the smae cage and I would like to know what your impressions of the cage are after having it in the car for a while? Also do you have anypics of the drivers door (would liket o see what you did about the bars intruding into the car). You have a very nice car.

What tyoe of cages are you building (SCCA or Drag)? With the 100-125 you quoted how many points do they have?

I've got the Autopower kit, modified with Nascar style drivers barsad a double passenger bar.
For a race car, I would not buy this kit again, as its use of space is *very* poor. For a street car with interior, it might not be too bad.

Bolt in cages flex too much. Custom weld in cages are the way to go for maximum chassis stiffness, plus welded in cages can usually be built to fit the chassis better (closer to suspension mounting points.)

1.5"x.095 weighs 1.426 lbs per foot. The 1.75x.134 wall that the mass built guys sell weighs 2.313 per foot.
