All-wheel drive rx7?

I know there has been all-wheel drive rx7's out there, and I have this uncontrolable disire to build one, I've been searchign forums and any site i can find but have been unable to find any info on converting an rx7 (second gen info woudl be great) to all-wheel drive. So If anyoen knows of any sites, or place i can get info on the best way to get it started I woudl appreciate it

The rotary doesn't make enough torque, IMHO. Drive an AWD Subaru, then study its dyno chart and compare those numbers to an RX-7 dyno. Pay special attention to the midrange torque available, and how the Suby feels at those RPM's.

If you want AWD, buy a Subaru, that's my opinion.

agreed, pipe dream. But if you've got money that is threatening your life you can do whatever your heart desires. But i wouldn't be messing around with that stuff without some serious fabrication and racing experience.

you could mate a 2 rotor or 3 rotor to a Subaru tranny in order to get AWD but to do that to a FC chassis is.. is.. well... kinda silly. you'd need to find front knuckles that allow for drive axles and possibly a front subframe as well, good luck though, its a waste of time unless youre really looking to get away from your wife or gf... LOL.

just be careful, some guys might think you've ripped the ''soul'' out of the FC by making it awd

How exactly would you mount the rotary to a subaru tranny? do you know of someone who makes an adapter kit or know of someone whos done this? If so, I would greatly like their contact information lol

There was an awd fc from Argentinia at Sevenstock 5 or 6. It used an Audi drivetrain.
The guy let everyone who looked at his car sign it with a Sharpie.
Unique car, unique guy.

The car belongs to Ricardo Porta.... He used both Audi (tranny) and Subaru driveline parts... here are a few pics.

you have to move the 13b forward, and change the bell housing

20B with the OSGiken GTR tranny box ( works with FC but not FD ) and R32 AWD linkage.. lots of custom parts, lots of money but very doable.
