Air Oil Separator

Hey I am finishing up with my FD build and I wanted to know if anyone has built an AOS system for the 13b engine. I wanted to return the oil to the engine rather than running a conventional oil catch can where I would have to empty it. If there is no way of returning the oil to the pan I will run a catch can. First rotary build, so I am not sure how much oil will go into the catch can and how often I would have to empty it. The car will be used mainly on the race track. Any insight you have into this would be appreciated.

this is what im running on my ls, but its pretty easy to setup on any engine. They also have great support and offer parts for fds.

You can recirculate the air or vta whatever you prefer.

Rotaries have oil above the line of the pan, so don't do it like on the LS. If you have a single turbo, use one of the original twin turbo oil drains. Or, you can use the front cover.

Some people run oil half way up the dipstick to limit the amount in the can, which I'd suggest is less than ideal.

We just used a non-return valve when plumbing to the pan, which from memory was one of these. Just needed the internal spring removed iirc. Short of ovals, it will be fine.

Probably the choice of where you run it will come down to real estate and if LH or RHD. The biggest breather and lines from the filler neck you can fit would be my recommendation too.
