Lets keep it ASP... No SSM talk. Fd is unbeatable SSM and SSM2 but I'm trying to build an unbeatable ASP

[QUOTE=BLUE TII;11505704]For instance the MoonFace Roll Center Corrected lower arms for the FD.

These could be cut and lengthened to add negative camber and then would be legal in Street Prepared.

I can build LCA's with RCC's if needed for less than half that RH Japan price. contact me if interested.

Kevin Doe's front UCA bushings are ASP legal and great for changing suspension settings

$250 later I've got those bushings installed and I'm sitting at -3.2 front camber with 6.7 caster and zero toe

that is an interesting idea, a real quick googling reveals that the HT-12 turbo was used in a couple other cars/trucks so there actually are real HT-12 turbine housings out there, as opposed to making a garrett part work.

Unfortunately, the turbo as defined consists of-

the compressor housing, center housing and complete rotating assembly and the exhaust housing.

Even ceramic coating the stock exhaust housing is not allowed.

But the center housing between the two turbo exhaust housings is considered an extension housing and part of the exhaust (as an 02 extension housing would be on other vehicles).

Exhaust manifold is free ("free" means no design constraints)

Exhaust is free except that it must exit behind the driver and be "quiet" *apparently "quiet" is subjective*.

Boost control is free except that you may not increase wastegate size, number or location and you may not run a pop-off boost relief valve *though BOV are free and known to leak/work as relief valve...*

I envision throttling the exhaust with TBs attached to wastegate actuators at the exhaust terminus to maintain desired boost.

I would like to redesign the sequential system so that exhaust might accidentally exit the prespool control flapper as well as the wastegate, but that is getting into protest territory for sure.

I will probably settle for a blanking plate on prespool door I can replace with a screamer pipe for the street.

Pre turbo water injection, E85 and quick disconnects on turbo oil lines and V-band exhaust connections for quick turbo changes and I think 500RWHP+ is possible on stock turbos with stock "block" engine.

BOV for boost spiking?

Referencing "Boost control is free except that you may not increase wastegate size, number or location and you may not run a pop-off boost relief valve *though BOV are free and known to leak/work as relief valve...*" from Blue TII.

I have seen mentioned elsewhere that a BOV can be configured to relieve boost spiking as a way around the SCCA Street Prepared rules that prohibit waste gate changes. What I haven't seen is any report on how that is done or how well it works. Can anybody shed any light on that?

Cheers, Philip

So.... It's been a slow year but... Last Sunday the fd got 1st place and FTD at the corvette club in Palm Bay, fl

I don't know how I pulled it off but the kumho's xs I got from ebay in stock size on stock rims and the following alignment helped tons. I beat zr1s, z06s and c5s
Front camber -2
Front caster 4.2-4.6
Front toe out: .10 per side

Rear camber -1.8
Rear toe in: .06 per side

This is awesome! FD getting TTOD at 'vette meet on street tires.

Most BOV are a poppet valve where at some point boost pressure will push the valve off the seat and cause it to leak.

If you have too big a BOV the leak will be huge and the car will fall flat on its face. If the BOV is too small it won't leak enough and you will still get boost creep.

You could start with a stock DSM BOV for instance as they are known to leak around 18psi boost and they are somewhere between stock FD size and aftermarket BOV size.

This isn't the correct way to regulate boost and drastically increases your chance of detonation destroying your engine as by creating a boost leak you are pushing the turbos WAAAAY out of their efficiency range and they are really pumping hot air into your engine.

I just find it odd that SCCA explicitly prohibits pop-off valves to regulate boost, but is fine with changes from stock BOVs.

A much better way to regulate boost would be a variable flow exhaust or even something as simple as a really large diameter tube exhaust for spool with a small exit at the muffler to limit ultimate flow.

For example, on my TII with stock hybrid turbo I had much better spool with 3.5" turbo back exhaust with the ~ 1 3/4" exit tip silencer in versus full 3" turbo back exhaust and it was enough to stop boost creep.
