12a build questions?

ok so my engine in my 82 s has a dowel pin leak and im planning o fa rebuild, but this is my question. Is it possible to build a NA 12a up to about 160 RWHP? what is the estimated cost? what parts will i need? i would love to remain stock port if possible, but im willing to compromise if need be.

to get there without forced induction of some sort, you're going to have to do some porting. period.

My stock 12a with RB intake, RB Holley, RB road race Exhaust, put down 125rwhp and 101ftb of torque. That's a long from 160rwhp, without porting I just don't see it. But I would love to see it done

The bottom line is I dont think anybody goes for more power without porting. It's just too easy. I'm sure if you lightened the e-shaft and rotors to their bare minimum, used Japanese irons (assuming thats where the extra power they make comes from), run a big Weber, hot ignition, and 3" exhaust with a good header you could get to 150, but I think thats probably about the highest "realistic" number.

...Unless you're talking about crankshaft, then I think its easy! My Spec7's make over 130 at the rear wheels (corrected) with all "stock" parts.
