***MAZDACOMP Discounts on parts and VEHICLES***
This is just an FYI to many of you Mazda type enthusiasts.. I know many people probably cruise the "racing" section here and probably don't know about the Mazdamotorsports development programs, so I thought I'd pass along the info...
Mazdacomp in my perception is one of the coolest advatages to owning a Mazda vehicle over a comparable company.. With a minimum of two races are year (so 2 days of autocrossing counts, total cost $50) you get a significant discount on all stock parts and TONS of aftermarket products...
And yesterday I find out that they are even offiering S-plan discounts on new Mazda vehicles for members. (S-plan is similiar to the Ford corporate employment discount program) Rx-8?
For any of you who have thought about getting into autocrossing, and just needed one extra push, this is it.. I don't think many of the "casual" racer types know about these program, so I just thought I'd pass on the info...
check it out...

Dear Racer:
Subject: Racer discounts on new Mazda vehicles
Mazda is pleased to announce discounts which are now available through the end of August 31, 2003, to racers who are currently registered in the MAZDASPEED Motorsports Development program.
Eligible racers qualify for Mazda's S-Plan discount program on the purchase of new Mazda vehicles. S-Plan pricing varies per vehicle, but can save you up to thousands of dollars off the MSRP of a new vehicle. S-Plan pricing is printed on the dealer invoice for every car. The S-Plan discount would be IN ADDITION TO any existing incentives.
Racers must meet current MAZDASPEED Motorsports Development eligibility requirements to be eligible for the S-Plan pricing on new vehicles.
The vehicle does not have to be purchased for a race car. It can be purchased as a support vehicle, or an extra vehicle for your family.

their new system is great order everything online and it usually ships 2 day UPS. for me it only takes one day. in the old days it was difficult because you had to call and talk to the order guys and have them look up the part numbers. Now my engine builder gives me the part numbers I go online and it is to me the next day(engine parts are really the only parts I buy from Mazda).

I have had a few dealing, in the past with the guys at Mazda Motorsports and found their help fantastic.
Unfortunately now with the new policy I cant buy anything off the guys as I am in Australia
We use a PBS 5speed transmission in our racecar, series 2 RX-7, check out www.revdoctor.com.au, and now we are going to have to find someone in the US who will help us out getting spare parts for this gearbox, as well as other items we might need in the future.
Can any of you guys help??? www.revdoctor.com.au
