Responding to Rotary Dynamics or RD_Turbo

I just wanted to let every one know about what is happening.

I sold Rotary Dynamics or RD_turbo here on the forum 2 items.
1)Black 1993 Carpet
2) MAP sensor (N3A1)

He promptly paid and asked many questions.
Originally, I wait a few days before shipping, I had offered to have the carpet professionally cleaned. I had this done and let it dry for 2 days prior to packaging. I boxed the item, took it to work, and attempted to ship it. I was un successful due to not have a customs form holder. I located this, found the paper work and took it to postal annex. I was sent away from there to take it directly to the post office. I arranged to use my F150 to take the large package to the post office on the 8th of October. Everything was paid for and ready to go. This past Friday the 13th I was notified I had forgotten to sign a piece of the customs paper work, I fixed that and the package finally registered its tracking number.
I have been away from my pc for the past 5 days, rather unexpectedly and not able to check emails or the forum. When I did check my accounts, I had several nasty emails from RD, saying he could not get ahold of me. I had responded to EVERY other PM or email he has sent me over the past month. Each email (out of 3 accounts) was different.
Despite me responding to him and the tracking number working he still filled a paypal discrepancy that the items have not arrived.

Here is the tracking number.

I understand I took a very long time to get this shipped, and I was planning to refund the buyers shipping costs due to this. After the emails and lack of communication from him, I see no reason to. I even gave him a discount for waiting originally. At this point I could have sold the carpet for almost $100 more + shipping.

Anyways.
If you purchase a LARGE item from me and have it be shipped out of the country, BE WARNED. I take forever. Haha.

I read your post and I'll be as objective as I can but I should state that I know RD since we are from the Greater Toronto Area. But I have never talked to him about this particular transaction or frankly for several months.

My understanding from your post is that there have never been any transactions betweent he two of you prior to this one. Therefore, no direct relationship of trust other than the respective forum searches each would have performed.

You admitted that you normally don't ship items right away without offering an explanation. I find that alarming in itself. Don't accept the money till you are ready to, or close to being ready to ship.

You admitted to making some errors processing your shipment, which has nothing to do with RD.

You admitted that you were not able to communicate with RD for a period of 5 days. You didn't explain why and I can appreciate that there are circumstances that result in an inability to communincate. But for the most part other than being sent to work in a rain forest or a death in the family I can't think of many. Hopefully the latter was not the situation for you.

To your credit you acknowledged then and now responsibility for the delay and indicated that you wanted to correct the situation monetarily. Sounds reasonable to me but I don't see why you are justified in changing your position.

Rd paid for the item and waited. When you weren't communicating he got upset. That is understandable to me, I probably would have reacted similarily out of fear that someone was taking advantage of me.

It is good that a person buying from you in the future will know that you will take time to ship but RD had no prior warning of that. Hence the paypal claim.

In closing I would buy from you in the future but I would ask for assurances as to shipping date.

If I were you I would follow through on your initial thoughts of monetary compensation.
