Osaka Jdm Engines SUCK!!!

ok, well i bought a s5 turbo engine and trans from them in august.. i got a broken oil pump, spun and gouged rear rotor bearing, broken teeth on rear stationary gear and on the rear rotor.. so i called them up and it was past the one month warranty.. so they gave me a deal on another engine with trans. i didnt have to pay for shipping. so i sent the money last month on the 14. i just got my engine yesterday. it was dropped off when i wasnt home. i got home from work to find my engine on a pallet wrapped up. i could see from there that it was missing my 5 speed trans. so i took off all the wrapping. now i see a torque converter.. then i see that it doesnt have the oil pressure sending unit under the oil filter. the heater hoses are different then my s5 turbo2. the injectors are pink top. i dont know what year this motor is.. the turbo has an extra diaphram thing under the stock wastegate diaphram..im f***ing pissed off.. i have to call them tomorrow to talk to the guy i ordered it through. his name is chris.

the 1st engine was never installed?

just curious- how much out of the 30 day warranty were you that you had to buy another engine and could not work it out?

i put it in and tried to start it 2 months after. they are a bunch of idiots over there. i called them today and they said i ordered a s4 engine without a trans.. then they said they will send me a trans and an alternator that was also missing. then i said i cant use this engine and then i was on hold for about 5 min. then i talked to the manager whos name is john, he asked for my tracking number. i said i dont have it. he said i have to find it and call back. i made a call to the shipping company annd then called back, asked for john, was on hold another 5 min. then i ave the tracking number to john, he said he'll call me back later today. i wish i could go over there and shoot all of them. anyone need an engine or jdm parts??? well i called my credit card company to dispute the charges from them.. i'll just take my money back. this company really sucks.

To me it sounds like they sent you a 13BT from a Cosmo. The early 86-89 cosmo in Japan came with almost the same motor as the RX7 Turbo II. Its actually a combination of S4TII and s5 TII parts. All of the Cosmos where automatic. That motor IF good will work in an RX7 with a few parts switched from your RX7 blown engine...

Anyway, hope this info helps... By the way thier motors are not tested.. They say they test them in Japan but that is not true. I used to buy from some of the same suppliers they still buy from.. One batch of motors I got from that supplier... 10 motors, 8 of them ended up being cores..no compression... yet they told me in Japan that all of the engines where running motors and had been checked for compression.. It simply was not true..

japan2la- what difference does it make if they tested them in Japan or not?

as long as the importer tests them before putting them up for sale- thats what counts to the end customer.

PRICE/VALUE!!!

Huge differance between core and good running motors. Dont you think you want to know what your buying in japan BEFORE you spend the cash to ship it over?

That is just it... Thier motors are not tested in Japan and Osaka DOES not test them in CANADA when they get their container in from Japan. Thier motors dont GET tested period! This why so many people have purchased broken engines from them. Osaka's motors are not TESTED in Japan Nor are they TESTED in NORTH AMERICA before they are sold...

I can not explain it any more clearer than this!0000000000000000

actually you DID explain it right this time, before you said that the exporter does not test them and left it at that.

I dont care if they send a video and take a polygraph, as the importer selling to the customer you test it before it goes out.

remember- I also know a thing or two about this subject, im not some lounge rat throwing out useless chatter here.

I dont even know what business would bother with these anymore, they are more trouble then they are worth, especially with the age of TII engines.

what i am at a loss to understand is why people continue to buy from osaka, when all i have heard is they suck for the past 3 years. the rx7 community needs to stop buying motors from them. its not like they are the only importer.

Ohh snap I wish I discovered this forum like 7-8 monthes ago. I got my motor and tranny from osaka JDM. 13BT S4. Everything was there and yeah. I haven't actually ran it yet. It is my long term senior project for high school. But yeah I hope it turns out ok... I only paid $1000 though for engine and tranny. Everything looks in order though...

If I remember correctly:
OMP= S5
TPS= S5
Injectors= s4 high impedence
rotors= S4
Turbo= s4
Rotor housing=S4
Oil pan= Strange...=Cosmo neither S4 or S5
Waterpump Housing = S4 but the waterpump neck is Cosmo

I probally could confirm all of this if you can post a pic.. trying to work of memory is hard..

yeah i got a motor from them also but i only wanted it for a rebuild so i did not care to much about if it would run or not.but when i took it apart it did have a cracked front water jacket in the front engine plate.otherwise everything else inside the motor was fine and in spec.and i sold everything else off the motor like turbo /intakes /trans /short shifter it had and aftermarket clutch /and alt with double pulley.fuel injectors etc etc.after i sold all the stuff i only had like 200.00 in a block with only having to replace the front plate.but yeah if someone had put it in there car it would have drank coolant.but a s5 block for 200.00 not too bad for a build
