about 2 weeks ago i got in contact with simply6foot2 and he told me he wanted to buy mt 12a i had for sale. after talking on the phone and messaging back and forth he decided that he was going to come either this friday or sunday to buy the motor..i even offered to drive a few hours his way to make the trip easier. he promised he would buy the motor and pleaded with me not to sell it to anyone else. so being the nice guy i am i agreed to hold it for him

well, i hadnt heard from the guy since the 13th of this month and since then i have been sending him PM's...he reads them, he logs onto the forum everyday but he doesnt reply. i just sent him a text and asked him if was still coming to get the motor...him simply said "NO"...i replied back and asked "why"..he said "something came up"

bullshit man..you bought a motor local and you didnt have the ***** to tell me after you were stringing me along for the past two weeks...

I TURNED DOWN OFFERS FOR THE MOTOR FROM 2 LOCAL PEOPLE AND ONE HERE ON THE FORUM FOR THIS CLOWN BAG

i cant stand people who do this crap....if you want something BUY IT..dont promise something and then back out of it after someone was nice enough to hold a motor for you for 2 weeks..

SELLER BEWARE.....simply6foot2 IS A FLAKE.

And people call Folks like Kevin Landers "Hard ***" for not holding things.

the first one that shows with cash gets the product

This is your lesson to be learned, being mad a 6foot2 is your mistake yet again....you should only be mad at yourself

I'm not trying to be mean, but this is one of those hard lessons in life that you need to learn before you get too old.........'cause it will happen time and time again.

People are inherently good, but that being said, remember when it comes to buying and selling, shrewdness is what it is all about.

You made it personal by trying to help the guy out. And that is a noble trait that is misplaced. When he gives you "cash" (notice I used the term cash and not promise to pay etc?) When the guy gives you cash then you can lend a hand, until that point occurs in the transaction one rule exist........

Buyers are Liars.

This is not true 100% but maybe it is 90% of the time.

Remember, from this day forth the two things I've mentioned.

1.) whoever shows with the cash first gets the product
2.) buyers are liars until they pay 100% of the negotiated selling price.

If you go about selling this way from here on out, you will never again be disappointed to the point where you feel the need to start a thread naming some random Joe as your new nemesis

And once you understand, it is not personal......that people really "Want" to buy this or that....but things do come up.

Once you understand and fully process all of that info into your brain, the feelings of anger and hurt from someone backing out after they made a verbal commitment will never rise up in you again.

Years and years and then a few more years of selling for a living.......and when a deal goes south....

"meh"

is all they get from me.......maybe a "who's next"

Now you are talking.

and do yourself a favor, raise the price $100 just for spite. It'll make you feel better in a dirty sort of way.....

I've bought and sold a lot of things on this forum as well. One common theme is, most will just have the items hanging out in the Garage and until I show up on their front door step with money.....they don't even clean the item up or pull it off the parts car.....which is cool with me.

I understand how it is.....no money, no worky....when cash changes hands everything is different. I just went from the "tire kicker" category to the "Cash Buyer/Cool guy" category.

I was going to say something when I saw the thread title and read the original post, but it seems like everything has already been said/resolved. You can't ever let it get personal. Jush brush it off and move on. I do understand your frustration at losing potential buyers to try and help the one person out. Unless you personally know someone or trust them enough don't ever do "dibs" or "hold" anything. That's my new policy and it definitely lessens the frustration...

I understand Trevor is up set but this is whats up!

Yes I had made a deal and I was sticking to it! I had arranged to come pick up this motor from him and I was going to drive into another state because I felt it was worth it but I ended up in the hospital for almost a week!!

I was hit by a drunk driver in a nissan truck that didnt have lights on! He lost control of his car and flipped his truck into my car and it knocked me into a ditch. I was in (and still am) really beat up!

I have a broken ankel shattered left knee a crushed disc in my back and a broken coller bone! I just got out of the hospital in home care and I see this sh*t on here.

Im sorry for your loss of money! I wish to god that it wasnt this way! I may never live it down but i dont care! I didnt do anything wrong - I dont feel guilty but I apoligize anyways for your loss of money!! God forbid anything ever happen to you or your family!
