I don't think they do anything BUT Toyotas or at least Toyota-sponsored racing...

I assume they are a legit and well known shop since they are in the game GT4. That's right I just referenced a game :P

sunrise japanese motors

i got a kl-ze for my mx-3 from them before they are a good company to deal with
100% customer satisfaction and start up warranty and 30 day on the engine and tranny
there's 2 extra injectors on the to of the intake manifold and 2 in the intercooler piping, 3" downpipe, garrett turbo, tuned ecu

Cool, those are awesome motors. I had a '93 626 that had the USDM version and it was still pretty damn quick. I can only imagine it in an MX-3....
I've got a base 4-cyl model as a daily driver. It has 185k on the motor and still going string, but I'm looking into dropping in the 2.0L from a mid-90's Protege. Should be pretty good since it has almost double the HP of my current motor.

the problem that you run into with the "tuned ROM ECU's" is that they are for "SPECIFIC" applications. you're on the lucky side b/c you bought the whole motor/tranny/ecu/harness all together as one. so your motor/ecu setup is matched.

i ran into the same problem when i purchased a "Power House Amuse" ROM ECU. Power House Amuse deals mainly for hondas and some nissans, similar to how your "Toms" deals with Toyota. whoever sold you that package should've been able to tell you what the ECU is tuned/designed for. most of the these ROM ECU basics are as follows:
1. FCD built in
2. Timing and Fuel curve (specific boost and turbo app)
3. Specific Boost level ~1bar
4. Speed Limiter Cut

^^ Those are the basics. one could even say that they're similar to an Rtek, but i'm NOT vouching that. you should be fine whith the whole package, but others (like myself) will have to go to a dyno, tune and buy a piggy back to properly tune the motor since it's prob not to spec. at the very least, these ROM ECU's are much better than the stock format, but you always take the risk of not knowing what your getting unless the paperwork comes with the ECU.

i'm no stranger to turbo's i sold my mx-3 turbokit i was going to run 10psi on a 10:1 C/R engine to buy this engine
i plan on getting a WB02 system soon so i can keep an eye on t a/f
but really there is 2 injectors added on the top of the IM and 2 in the IC piping that i figure would work along the same line as water/alcohol injection ....cooling the charge and the 4stock injectors ......I don't think running lean is goin to be my problem boys

if anything it'll be running rich

Yes all that is stock, I think you just happened to buy one of the many mondified T2 engines that are availible from alot of importers.
Over the years I've bought alot of modified engines from several importers.
Chances are its just a modified engine by someone in Japan and it has a Tom's ECU.
