Power FC Wideband Corrections?

Wideband Corrections?
Recently I went to tune at the local dyno to use their wideband basically... Dynojet dyno and wideband.
Question: Do the wideband O2s have to be calibrated or setup in order to give proper readings?
The other day:
First run was lean, and we abandoned at 60mph (they're lost on how to hook up for a rpm signal)
Second run I accidentally had the default datalogit map up and I went in and adjusted the injector adjustment and clicked write all... So now my maps were overwritten with the preprogrammed maps in FC_Edit's default.dat.
This time the AFR curve looked a little more linear and came down from 14 to just under 12... still lean.
With intake, dp, mp, catback, FMIC, fuel pump, PFC, I only reached 302.5 rwhp at 14psi.
A friend of mine straps his car down and is running incredibly lean and we continue to add more and more fuel... After adding 40% fuel, the AFR comes down to 11.0. His idle sounds like crap and it's blowing black smoke throughout the run and bucking on the dyno. It has obviously started to flood out the engine. So we drop down on the fuel and as soon as the car is running better, the AFR is up at 12.5-13.0. With, dp,mp,catback, PFC, he's able to go from 211rwhp to 246 after taking out the fuel.
This particular dyno place is obviously sub-par as you may have been able to figure out, but we have been waiting for 3 weeks to use their wideband and they have continuously had problems with it dying on them and having to send it back to get a new one. Supposedly this is a new box, new sensor, new software.
Before the old O2 went out on them, I ran consistantly below 11 and sometimes drop off to below 10 (way too rich, explaining the need to tune).
Do these things have to be calibrated or setup or are they supposed to be accurate right out of the box? To me, 13.0 AFR is scary!

The problem with the WB at a dyno shop, you do not know what it has been through or how old it is. MOst likely is out of calibration.
Our local CARBOY shop, dosen't use their dyno WB for tuning their own cars, they use their own non-customer one. What does that tell you?

I use a horriba WB and calibrate it every time before dynoing. The sensor costover $600 and only lasts a few hours running rich but the sensor controller will terminate the use of the sensor when it goes out of calibration.
This setup is real expensive to use but
works!!

Yes, it was ATS... Waited over 3 weeks because they kept having to send back parts and wait for "overnight" delivery of wideband stuff... The worst part is I was never notified when it finally came in and was put at the end of someone else's session even though I had made around 10 appointments the previous days. Not to mention the fact that they only have one guy who they let work the dyno... Unfortunately, they have a monopoly in the area.
