what map to use and does anyone have a good one?

I have a 94 R2 with:
stock turbos nonsequential/ported WG
stock ports
custom y pipe
HKS SMF intakes
RE Reg V Mount
Greddy elbow/ Greddy RS BOV
Greddy BC
FEED Pulley/ AP elim kit.
DP/MP(res)/CB
PFC/Com/datalogit
Walbro FP

I plan to have a new FPD modified rail for 850/1300(pr/sec) unless thats over kill. that or a new FPR with aan internal FPD and eliminate the stocker.

So will the Base mod map for the PFC that comes with it run these mods fine for stock boost levels till i get a tune and go for a little higher boost? If so how well and how soon should i plan on a tune. If not, does anyone runa similar setup and can let me have a look and use thiers? Please give me a good idea about what im doing as i have never done this far before.

The base/mod map that comes in the pfc should be fine w/ that set-up. The stock injectors are where your problem is going to be at if you want to run more than 13-14psi. If you change the fuel then obviously you need a custom tune. G

can i run stockers on those mods? i will upgrade the pump and get balanced and flowed ones otherwise. I just want to be safe. the max boost im going to run is 13... most likely 12 just to be safe.

If you run around on the base map you will be missing out on alot. I would get the car tuned asap to make the most out of what you have and make sure the car is safe.

You really dont have a readily available map for 850/1300's. Chuck's map is setup for 550/1200's. Which would be a good one to start with if it's still around. My map is based off of Chuck's with a tad less timing on the top end and a little more progressive timing between part throttle to WOT, its setup for 550's/1300's. I still would say you need to tune it or have it tuned even if you use someone elses map. Engines are too different to just use a map for all out performance.

I would love to use that if you could send it to me. I am such a tuning noob it is a little embarrassing. I can’t get through all the info on what injectors and map to use. I have everything I need nailed down for my project but this area. There are just too many answers to the questions I have. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I can’t seem to get through all the different opinions to find out which setup for fuel my car will require. Do I need new injectors and fuels system for my bolt ons and stuff listed in the first post or wait till I go street port and BNR3s? What maps will work for what and what do I do to make sure they are good. I know a lot about cars but not this area at all.

I've been told I can do ok with the base mod map and stock fuel system (balanced and flowed w/ a new FPD) for the time being but I tend to err toward safe so I want to be ok for SURE. Then again I've been told that if I go to big on the fuel system it will be inefficient and bad that way too. The mods I described here are going to be it for a while and I do plan on a good street tune but I will need something to get it to drive and not blow up. I don’t care if I sacrifice a little power till I get a tune but I just don’t want to have a blown engine due to my ignorance.

Also I need to line up a tuner and I am not sure whose in my area. Steve Kan is in Texas? And crispeed is in Miami? Is anyone around here to help with this or how much to come here/ Tallahassee Fl.? I just wanted to know if I can drive safely on these setups till I can get it tuned and if I had to drive a distance to get it tuned would it be ok. Sorry again for all the starter level questions but that’s just what I am.

If I can start and drive safely on the base mod map and then get a tune to massage the most out of it, I’d like to do that. Then I will just plan my fuel system for the end of my project. I started to read all related posts and threads today about fuel setups and cot confused and had 13 threads in my favorites to revisit in like 5 minutes. If anyone knows you to talk to or a similar setup out their please let me know! Again any help is much appreciated!

Fair amount of good tuners in Florida. Go to the regional forums and post there.

Depending how much boost you run and how rich the tune is, you can probably get by with stock secondaries. I probably wouldn't run more than 12psi. Having them enlarged to 1200cc or 1300cc in addition to the upgraded fuel pump should be fine for 14-15psi.

Someone correct me if I'm wrong.

Ok, now i have re-read the PFC manual, the dale clark faqs and numerous searches and threads. I think i will take smaller steps as im still a little new and unknowledgeable about this.

I have on the car now:
HKS intakes
DP/CB

I will have a:
RE V-Mount
Feed AP elimination kit
MP(rx 7 store resonated)
greddy boost controller
Greddy elbow
custome cross over
Walbro FP

So... question 1)I have a set of nonsequential/ported wastegate turbos sitting in storage. Will the nonsequential work with a regular base mod map? I havent seen much info on this and no clear answer. It seems to me that a custom map would be needed?

2) if i stayed sequential and ported the wastegate would the base mod map handle these bolt ons rather well or just barely?

I would be stock fuel at this point on all questions and scenarios. Is that ok till i go street port and BNRs. Im thinking of upgrading to 1300s and blueprinted on all four at some point and then a good Kan tune. I just want to do the above described step first and run that for a while till i get used to the new FC and mods.
