WARNING About My Last Post Dyno Maps
Today in Houston was very dry and cool, 50F temps. The temperatures were the same as my last dyno session, but the air was humid back then. It was so easy cruising at 100 with the foot barely on the throttle. The power was noticeably higher than normal. I have been running fine without problems "until" today.
Kyle and I went out planning to test the DATALOGIT's logging function, and fine tune my fuel. Running 12+PSI boost, the J&S was lighting up more than usuall and I had some misfiring. I knew my plugs (all 9s) were getting old, so we replaced them. Sure enough, the electrodes were badly eaten away. So back to the testing we went and the new plugs did not misfire. The AFRs all were in the medium to low 11s!
I keep the J&S sensitivity a little high so that it usually flickers some during high boost when I first get on it. Today it was very active! The PFC commander sometimes showed 100 - 130 knock spikes beween 4000 and 5500 rpms. Other times the level was in the normal 30s. We pulled out 2 degrees of timing (IGL and IGT) and went back at it. The spikes went away. We did not get around to logging any runs as we both were very nervous and on the edge after the "excitement".
We did lower the temps that my fans come on. Fan speed 1 comes on at 91C and turns off at 89C. This was tested. Fan speed 2 is set for 96C.
So REMOVE at lease 2 degrees for N10 through N13 for P17 to P20 if you are using my timing maps

The center electrode will erode due to the action of the spark. The leading plugs wear the most because they spark twice as often as the trailing. The plugs had been in the engine since August and they were the cheaper ones, not the platinum. They had 12 dyno runs, about 24 O2 sensor runs, plus about 5000 miles of my fast driving. All were a nice medium brown with a little black on them. The wear and color were uniform for the front and rear rotors. No sing of melting or high heat.
