very high knock readings

I am getting very high knock readings all the time, even just in neutral reving the engine up. The problem is that I did a whole bunch of work to my car so its kind of hard to pinpoint the problem. I replaced the engine, and installed a single turbo kit at the same time. I replaced the sensor but still the same, maybe even worse! I was running the NGK 10EGV plugs but changed those thinking there might be some interference from them being non resistor plugs but no change. I checked the signal with the car off using a graphing multimeter and it is working properly so either something is causing my engine to vibrate like crazy or I am picking up some noise from some other source. I even tried grounding the insulation shield with a jumper wire and rerouting the wires farther away from the alternator, but no change again. The only other thing I can think of is that the wastegate cooling fins for the turbo kit touches the bell housing of the transmission. Do you think that could be the problem? Any other ideas? The shield grounds inside the PFC is there another external ground that I should look for besides the one at the back of the manifold and the big neg cable that goes to the block?

I am not sure what the numbers are but the bar graph is almost pegged out. It is not detonating. I am getting noise from somewhere else. I have done everything I can think of, including having the car dynoed at XS and they concure that the sensor is picking up a false signal, the question is from where?

Have you checked the knock sensor to insure it is not loose? You could disconnect the wire going to it and ground it to the engine with a resistor of equal impendance. Then run the engine. You should have a very low steady reading this way. Or try moving the sensor to the rear housing and test it there.

Well today I unplugged the sensor and of course the display went to zero, so i know the sensor is picking something up. So I took a long screwdriver and put it to the front housing and sure enough there is a scaping sound. I listened to the rear and it does not sound the same, it is nice and smooth. This is the same engine that had the tension bolts come loose on it not long after it was rebuilt. The engine runs fine, does not missfire or anything and you can't hear the noise just standing there. Now I don't know what to do. I do not want to pull this engine out again... maybe I should of got a V8..
