Will AEM force the release of PFC software?
Have you guys seen the new AEM unit? Plug and Play and comes with tuning software to run on windows... adjusts everything from turbo transition to OMP duty cycle... and you don't have to send your computer off to have it mapped.... looks pretty good, and pretty bad for PFC sales. Maybe it will force the release of the Power XL software in the US? If this is a good as it looks I know I will be selling my PFC as soon as its released.

Re: Will AEM force the release of PFC software?
I'd advise you to wait for other results on the AEM unit. it's a very new product and it's bound to have countless glitches. let others be your guinea pig... hey if you really must get it, you can be my guinea pig .
the PFC was already a year or possibly a couple years old before they released it in the US. I believe it went through 7 revisions when in Japan and 1 revision since it's been released in the US (total 8 revisions). Personally, I trust Apex with something as sensitive as a fuel/ignition computer a lot more than I would trust AEM.

That's a good point. I was reading a thread on the Supra forum about it and it sounded just incredible. Afterwards I had some of the same thoughts about it being new and all and even if you do tons of R&D there are still new problems that pop up. But i still want to try it.
You have to admit it will be nice to have an alternative. Competition is good for everyone, especially the consumer...

I completely agree. Competition will make a better product from Apex, AEM, or even introduce a healthy 3rd competitor into the market. We, as the rx-7 community, will benefit the most.

I recieved a demo on the AEM EMS at the PRI show early this month and I must say it was very impressive. I do feel it is going to be better that the PFC if the PFC software doesnt becaome avail. If however Apexi gets a clue then it could e a toss up as far as tuning goes, but the data log is awfully nice. I cant wait to see a first test!!!
