Tuning out backfire?

Ok I just got done putting an M2 Large intercooler & airbox in my car and I am planning on going out with my friend either Tues or Thurs and tuning the car. I noticed when I fired up for the first time on Sat and drove it around a bit that, similar to when I first got the PFC, it backfires when I lift off light throttle under 3000 RPM when the airpump is working. I was wondering if there is any way to tune this out a bit. I assume that it is loading up on fuel a little bit and when I lift it dumps the fuel in the exhaust and when it hits the cat if backfires. Any help would be appreciated. I even had my friend, who has a 3rd Gen as well, following me when it did in on a back road and he said he jumped. I don't want to **** off the neighbors when I come down the road and it sounds like a gun goes off or when I ride in a nice area and then thenk Uncle Buck is right around the corner because of the backfire.

Just as an added note the intercooler is awesome and I can't believe how much it changed the car. I mean I was tuned at an AFR around 11 w/the stock intercooler and I made one little sprint just to make sure I fixed my turbo problem and it hardly got below 13. I can't wait for it to be tuned.

Make sure the three fuel cut points are set properly, 1500 to 1000 rpm.

You can also lean out the fuel cells for:
P1-P3, N5-N20
P4-P5, N8-N20
