Troubleshooting Smog Pump

The magnetic clutch on the smog pump is not engaging, meter indicates open circuit on the common/switched side. I have jumpered the circuit at the pump and the clutch picks right up, so it's not the pump. Checked the PFC status with the Commander, shows to be switched on. This leaves me with relays or wiring. Since the relays are in gang boxes and all of the wiring is multi-pin connectors any ideas on how to troubleshoot?

You just follow the yellow brick road one route at a time starting from Battery City untill all routes are checked out.

Your roadmap is page F-238 of the 93 manual.

The AC fuse under the hood is the fuse for the airpump as well. It's common for it to blow, as the insulation on the air pump connector is usually cracked off and missing to some extent, then it touches a ground and pops the fuse.

Thanks Dale but the fuse was the first thing I checked. I know anything can fail but have you ever run across one of these relays going bad?

Update: I have traced the circuit through the EGI Main Relay, vreified working, through the Air Pump relay, vreified working, and back to the PFC, 11 pin connector, 2J, Gray wire. In other words their is voltage all the way to the PFC. The PFC should be switching the circuit to ground, and indicates on the Commander that the APR is switched on.The two grounds from the 26 pin connector appear to be good, if not I think most if not all devices being switched (controlled) would not work. Any ideas?????

I'm am considering pulling the PFC and plugging a stock ECU in to help troubleshoot Smog Pump and other issues. Anyone know of any problems with this?
