Tricking the mop sensor, for idiot light
Hey Guys,
I went ahead, and did the Dale Clark right up on the warning lights. So I got it hooked up to my idiots lights in the dash. They flash on with the key in the on position and stay on with the car running.
So I did some research and found out it is related to sensor not reporting in or being broke. I "fixed the fuel temp sensor using an extra water thermosensor and the volts now mirror the water temp volts and that sensor is unhighlighted. I went ahead and worked on the vmop sensor next. I cant seem to get that one figured out. I repinned two wires into my harness 4I and 4J I believe these are inputs to the ecu from the omp, but I am not 100% sure. Also I spliced into 3G which is the full range tps signal to power up the input for the mop. It seems to mirror the mop volts better than the narrow range.
So thats it, I am stumped, I touched both 4I and 4J to 3G seperately of course and it still showed 0.0 volts on the vmop screen. Any thoughts or insight would greatly be appreciated. The electric mop is long gone, the harness is a fully stripped down S-5 turbo harness. runnning a FD power FC. I would love to have this warning light feature working properly, instead of continuous dash meltdown.
Thanks in Advance

I don't believe anyone has been able to duplicate the electric oil metering pump to fool an ECU. I've known a number of guys that just had one tucked under the dash and plugged in - not elegant, but it works.
I didn't realize that warning light would work with a bad sensor - that's actually pretty neat!

Yea it sure does,
Unfortunately in my excitement of installing a power fc I stripped back all the wires for the electric omp and then gave it, to a buddy whose omp went out. So I am just trying to send a signal voltage to the pfc to unhighlight the vmop on the commander. So close, but yet so far away!
Thanks
