Strange O2
Anybody else get really strange O2 readings?
It used to read anything between 0 and 1.1 volts. I never saw anything higher, and it would hit nice consistent voltages once it was warmed up.
I still get consistent voltages once it's warm, but I'm seeing values ranging from 1.3-1.5 volts while cruising. The one response I got from the "big list" about this said that it was not possible for the sensor to return that value. But, it's definately giving me back those kinds of readings.
I occassionally get the 'normal' range 0.5-0.8 volts when cruising, but only about %10 of the time.
The even weirder thing is that the J&S A/F display reads 1.35 volts as the beginning of the "rich/green" range. Comparing that with the EGT's, it looks like the J&S is telling me the truth. If I lean it out, temps go up unacceptably and J&S is off the scale lean, but the O2 readings drop to the normal range. Add some fuel back, and the O2 goes back into "crazy high value" mode, but the exhaust is back to a good temp, and the J&S is happy again (which is interesting since it's display is based on the sensor).
Anybody got any ideas about what gives?
I don't think the sensor is bad. It's behaviour is consistent, it's just that the values seem to be out of whack by about 0.5 volts.
