Anyone have their PFC shipped and tuned by them. I have a single turbo conversion I'm doing and wonder whether they do a good job. My car will not be there with the tuning and it will just be plug and play when I get it back from them.

I know they are a Power Excel dealer so I am confident of their experience. Anyone have and positive/negatives to add?

If you want your Power FC tuned give me a call at the rx7store. I have a bunch of safe maps that will work.

If the search is working you might try looking for old threads on this. Many comments from SR customers.

positive.. If you are stubborn like me :-D The map has "worked" good for me but like my local rotary expert said that doesnt mean anything. Next to buy: Wideband O2 Sensor
They were very courteous and quick. That made it worth buying it for the extra $$

i got my pfc from them and asked it tuned for mild mods, stock turbos. it turned only 220rwhp, their tuning was obviously very conservative so i'm sure you'll get a safe map. with a little work the setup i had then turned 270rwhp.

Do not send it to SR Motorsports...Crooks. Send it to Jason at the RX-7 store.

I have reviewed the settings in 3 different PFC's bought "tuned" from SR motorsports. Every one was the same, they had the "all init" map and up to 5% fuel added at the top of the PIM range. There is no such thing as good mail order tuning. Find the nearest reputable shop or tuner capable of tuning an RX-7 and spend your money there.

my experience with SR motorsports

I purchased my Power FC from SR motorsports. The service was perfect, the shipment was perfect, the product wiring harnes was prepared for immediate plug in without clipping wires, and it runs like a mo fo.

I told them what mods I had and they tuned it specifically for my car. With only the base 10 psi I'm hitting 115 mph in the quarter on street tires. It's amazing! The car even runs smoother than the stock computer.

Something that I liked particularly about SR motorsports is everyone that talks to you on the phone is pleasant and gives the impression that they want to help.

Pre-tuned is not of a lot of value - IMHO - other than a way to recieve delivery of the ECU with confidence that you can plug it in and go. The value is that from there you can have it tuned for YOUR car. Without this you are either runninng with less power or are running dangerous, or some mix of both. The chances of hitting the right A/F curve is not great without measuring it.

Yeah, I hate Ray with a passion after getting ripped off by him on a set of "upgraded twins." At the same time, I bought the PFC from him and told him my mods and with his map I made around 318 rwhp. Once I finally had time to hook up the wideband, I was running so pig rich in the top end, it was causing my plugs to occasionally misfire even with new plugs and the HKS twin ignition. I ended up taking out as much as 10% fuel from 6000 up to redline to get in the 11.4 range on the wideband. Before it was 10.2ish range. Extremely rich and safe but not worth paying his sorry *** for.

This is what I had done with KDR. They built my large street port motor, and I bought a Power FC from them with a base map Dave loaded on from a car with the same port job and mods as mine. I ran that base map for a year with no problems. Recently dyno-tuned @ Rx7 Store. With the KDR base map and high flow cat the map was conservatively tuned; I added a MP (replaced clogged hi-flow cat) and during the base dyno run WITH the KDR base PFC map, the AFRs were in the 10s (wide band at the tailpipe). Jason leaned out the AFR to 11s, and advanced the timing a skosh, and the car made 8% more rwhp on Rx7 Store's Mustang Dyno (which apparently was set for a high load during my dyno session?).

Mail order tuning is a waste of money. There are many factors that will affect the fuel and timing needed.

The most important factor that people do not know is the compression of the motor. If the map is tuned on a 8.5 kg/cm2 compression motor and used on a 6.5 kg/cm2 compression motor, the map will be too rich. If the map is tuned on a 6.5 kg/cm2 motor and used on a 8.5 kg/cm2 motor, the map will be too lean. I personally had experience about this from that piece of **** low compression motor Atkins Rotary sent me. I had to lean out the whole map by 20% to get back to 11.0 a/f even though the motor should be the same one as the previous Atkins motor which is another piece of ****.

Want a safe map? Go to PIM menu and enrich every rpm by 30% and that map will be so safe you will be puking fuel out of the exhaust pipe. Safe map is just bull ****. Mail order tuning is based on that. Don't waste your money.
