SO lean it's crazy. Noob questions...
Mods: PFC FD3S4 w/ commander - datalogit otw
DP, MP, Exhaust
Walbro Fuel Pump
Apex'i Intake
Sequential Twins
B-spec 2 EBC
Unknown metal SMIC, picture attached.
Airpump removed
EGR, ACV, AWS removed/blocked off
Mazdacomp 12lb flywheel
Innovate LM-1 wideband
I think that's it.
First post about PFC so it might sound stupid.
Ok so I initialized my PFC before I really knew anything about my PFC. I just got it not too long ago and decided to use it with my new engine. Works great cruising/idle but I get crazy lean in the transition to boost and in boost (sometimes). I am seeing 14's still and it doesn't seem to richen up until full boost (9.5 psi) when it hits 9's. I have adjusted the PIM voltage above 2.5v and it will richen it up but I'm still getting 40s in knock. I thought that I would be relatively safe to drive on the base map @ 10psi. I also have the exhaust temp light lit up but nothing sticks out under the sensor/sw check. Everything seems fine. Any suggestions?

High knock after lifting the throttle is drivetrain shunt noise, consider fixing all the little noise generating items (bushings/mounts/trans/etc) so your peak knock on the commander means something after a boost run.
I have seen many a car run fine with the PFC base map, I consider it to be ok with just a minor amount of work required for most midly mod'd cars. Imagine if you had to build it from scratch!
IMO the worst feature of the PFC is idle control, absolute garbage.

Most maps also have IGL timng in the upper right area of the map at 50.
The engine will fall through this area when lifting off at high revs.
We set it to a max of 38. This helps reduce knock levels in some cars.
You might also want to check split as the PFC maps have poor split control.
