setting timing

how do i set timing on my car with an ap engineering power fc for fc?
i think i set it right, but it doesnt line up and moves... ??

Please explain what you mean by "it doesnt line up and moves".

when it idles, the timing for leading goes anywhere from -10 to 3 or 4, it goes to -5 for a bit and starts moving again

If your idle speed is constant and you are using the ISC for idle speed control, and you have Idle-IG control turned on; the IGL timing should only jump around by about two degrees. If turned on, turn it off and see what happends, it should stop jumping that 2 degrees or?

If your idle is steady and timing jumps around like you stated, then your PFC or commander are bad.
Rarely do an e-shaft pickup go bad, but a posibilty. Check them out.

Doesn't have what? Is this PFC modified for a FC and if so then how does it do what it does not have?
