Plugs filed out couple times, dumping too much fuel ??pfc?

i got my car running and my plugs got filed out a couple of times, im assuming im dumping too much fuel, is there a way to fix this problem by adjusting the injectors on my pfc??? i have installed a kg fuel kit, 850-1600cc. ems power fc. i do have a commander. i know i need to go get a tune but as for now, i will be putting more parts in, my question is how do adjust my injectors for now or to get it running right without filing out the plugs.... any help would do, thanks guys

Well, is the PFC set for those injector sizes? If not, well, duh, you have to change the settings!

You really need to do more research about modifications before you do them. It is clear you know nothing about the PFC or how EFI systems work -- this is not an insult, just a statement of fact.

For starters, the procedure on modifying injector sizes is covered in the PFC manual. There is no excuse not to be familiar with how the PFC works if you've installed it in your car. Like I said, you need to learn about the modifications before you do them, not after.

Secondly, there is no way to set the PFC to 1600cc injectors without the Datalogit. You can at least set the injectors to 850/1500cc so the car will actually run and cruise around.

I suggest finding someone local to help you out. Gotham Racing, Rotary Performance, Chuck (cewrx7r1) and Kyle (twokrx7) are in the neighborhood.

At idle the engine only uses the primary injectors. I bet that you did not read up and follow the instructions in the manual. Pages 25 & 26. Most likely you did not change the primary "%" and "LAG".

If you did, then why don't you lean out the idle with the commander.

A search on 850 will give you much data.

Kyle and I are the most experienced PFC/DL people in Houston.

This is no longer true as the programmer for this forum has hosed the search function. Entering 850 or "850" does not work anymore.

One step forward and three back!

Try searching for 850* instead. The asterisk trick didn't seem to work for me shortly after the site "upgrade", but it's working now.

try 0.04 for primary lag and .4 for the secondary

enter 7 7 5 , top to bottom, for the injector overlaps

By the book, only the primary injectrors have a "%" value and since both primaries are 850s, both values are the same "64.7%".

.04 lag on the primary, not 0.4

This will help you lean out your idle. Then you can try the PIM map's 1000 rpm setting to further reduce fuel at idle, if you cannot reduce it enough you may want to try even less lag, perhaps negative.

BTW adjusting the Lag WILL mess up the drivability and the AFR through the rest of the map from my experience. You will need to adjust other stuff to make that work properly. I just decided to let mine idle high and rich as it hasn't fouled any plugs yet, and I don't drive it everyday.

Backfires and stuff sound more like another problem than just large inj. and idling rich. The 0.4 lag may be the cause, that a big difference from 0.04 where it should be, but if not I would check into other things such as is the vac. line on the MAP sensor.

850s for primaries are a bad decision unless absolutley necessary for added fuel.
Just causes to much tuning problems.

550/1680 will get you a lot of HP!

You are still confused because you still do not understand what the manual states.
THERE IS NO SECONDARY %.

I want you to really pay attention to the labeling on page 25 to the top diagram.
There is Front Primary % and lag
Below that is Front Secondary lag
Below that is Rear Primary % and lag
Below that is Rear Secondary lag.

How can we help you if you can't read and comprehend?
