Power FC running too lean???
running too lean???
Hi, I have a 93 with stock tt setup running power fc and larger injectors (I have no clue what size, they were on the car when I got it). I recently had the engine rebuilt and street ported. Now on a wideband o2 I am getting around 12:1 at 15 psi and 22 degrees advanced on the leading plugs. I was told by an rx-7 guy that this is going to blow my motor and was wondering if I could get a second opinion? Any help would be greatly appreciated, I am just trying to keep this thing from blowing up on me. Thanks!!
Yes, that's TOO LEAN! DON'T drive it! Get it tuned! You should be no leaner than 11.5:1 WOT with a good tune and a little richer yet would be safer. Also, your timing should be retarded with a street port!
Yep.
And if you're pushing 22 degrees in the 5600-6000 rpm range you're pushing things VERY hard on the timing side too. Some people run upwards of 17 degrees there but 12-13 is more the norm from what I've read on here.

I made a few more pulls and saw the gauge mainly at 11.5 when I was pullin hard. I all so saw around 9deg of timing on the trailing side...but around 20 on L...so drifting this weekend would be a bad idea
wish I could just crank the fuel up, or turn the boost down easily,,,blah....thaught I was done.
