Power FC running lean with mod map

Question running lean with mod map

I just thought maybe someone could give me some ideas on my problem.
I am using the base mod map and you would think it would run nice and rich with my current mods: intake, DP, CB, and gutted cat.
However, I'm running uncomfortably lean according to my Halmeter A/F ratio meter. The ratio seems OK while boosting, so I'm not at a high risk of blowing my new motor. But the thing I don't like is that I run extra hot while driving around town and on the highway because of the lean mixture.
So can anyone give me some ideas of what would fix this. I have a SX fpr that I can raise the fuel pressure with. I'm running 28-30psi at idle.
Any help would be greatly appriciated.

Running lean off boost will not cause the engine to run hot.
I run in the high 15s to low 16s while cruising between 40 and 100mph, and about 14.7 lower as it makes it smoother.

My mod base map was lean for boost. Was about 12.1 at 12psi boost. And timing was too conservative. Then I started tuning. Did AFR tuning first, then started with timing.


You need to upgrade or modify your coolling system.

Thanks cewrx7r1, that makes me feel better that I'm not running too lean. I'm just afraid of blowing another motor.
You may be right on the cooling problem.
It seems to run way too hot even when I get on it a little around town. If I hit full boost or give it WOT, it will go up to almost 100C on the PFC. And when I'm driving around town and shut off the car (running at operating temp: 85C), when I come back before the car has cooled itself down, the PFC will show over 100C!
This doesn't seem normal.

Well, first off, 100C is NOT hot. Especially under heavy boost. As for it being over 100C after you park, not too much you can do about that, since the water pump is not running, and there is still heat. You can get a turbo timer, and let it run a bit, get it down to 85C or so, then it will shut off. But I would be willing to bet it would still climb back up over 100C when you turn it off.

PS 100C is 212F. The fans don't even come on high until 227F stock.

Thanks.
It just worried me because some of the local FD guys were shocked when I told them I had been regularly over 100C on my water temps.
I would still like to run a little cooler, just for safety's sake.
