REmoving air pump with power FC help

If I remove the air pump before the initial install of the power FC, will it learn a smooth idle or will it still be rough due to having the extra air from the air pump?

I need to lean out the idle mixtures a bit correct?

Could someone give me the run down on how to do this please?

thanks!

Steve

Dude, I think you and I are doing the same mods at the same time or something. I have exactly the same question. I am also removing my A/C soon like you did. You get any money when you sold the parts? I need to pay off some of the money I spent on the Power FC.

Man I am pissed. I just ordered my PFC and two of them pop up in the for sale section. I am tempted to try and cancel the order and buy one of those.

Anybody with a pfc ever read this forum? Anything special we need to do to set up the pfc without the airpump? Thanks.

Turn off the O2 idle control function. This way it will not be using the O2 sensor voltage for AFR control.

I didn't do this and mine works fine. It learned the missing air pump right away. Much better than the PFS it replaced! The car also lost the "accellerated warmup" system when I put in the Apex'i. I didn't remove it, it just doesn't do it anymore. It starts at 2500 RPM and slowly decreases to 750 as it warms up. Like it should have done from new!
