Redefining Map Refs - Worth it?

Has anyone redefined the boost map refs using the Datalogit just to rearrange the areas of higher vs lower resolution (in other words, NOT to run higher boost) AND actually seen an improvement in the way the car runs just from that?

I know the PFC interpolates between values so I'm not sure if there is anything at all to be gained by moving around the areas of improved resolution....

I have redone P17 - P20 so that they equate to exactly:
P17 = 12psi
P18 = 14psi
P19 = 16psi
P20 = 18psi.

Did this by measuring PFC PIM absolute pressure with a datalogit measured against my Autometer boost gauge and Blitz boost controller map sensor driven boost gauge.

A friend with a 3 bar map sensor has changed almost all of his P rows. Just to get better resulation at high boost.

Rows 1 -3 are really usless because at idle the engine is in P4. That frees up 3 rows. P4 - P6 is used for steady state cruising. P7- P10 are for non boost light acceleration. Heavy throttle make the PFC go almost instantly to M10+ or boosted rows. Thus you could also free up P9 - P 11 easily. That adds 3 more free rows. Thus we have added 6 rows for high boost areas if needed.

Now why to do this. The lower rows change by about 1.4psi. The rows above P16 increase by about 2.8psi. Very odd spacing. Thus I have mine by an even 2psi above P16 which is about 10psi.

If at am at 12PSI, it is in true row P17. At about 13.5 psi the PFC starts to blend P17 with P18. At about .5 psi before the next row, it starts blending into the next row.

You can see this by AFR levels getting richer and when very close to the next row, both rows will show on the log.
