Radiator Fan Settings. Problems with connecting to FC Edit

Hi.
I want to change the settings on the temperature for when the radiator fans are turned on.
I have trouble connecting to the FC Edit software. I have bought the $385 datalogit and Apexi software. I have no trouble connecting it to the original, licensed software. But I can not find these settings on the orignal Apexi Software (FC COMMANDER PRO).
So I wanted to connect with the FC Edit to easier find this setting. But I get the famous "Interface not responding" message. With the same COM port that works with the FC COMMANDER PRO. The COM port is no issue with FC COMMANDER PRO. Has anyone experienced this problem? it connects flawlessly with the original software FC COMMANDER PRO, but not with the FC Edit.

Thank you for any help.

The DATALOGIT originally used the serial port but most laptops do not have it nowadays.
Thus you have to use a Serial to USB cadapter cable and then install the appropriate software for it such as:
https://www.iogear.com/product/GUC232A/ which has all.
