quick noob question(dontcha love 'em!)

hello. first post in PFC forums.ive been reading and reading for about 2 hours now. but i see A LOT of contradicting opinions/facts. i just wat to ask a few questions to clarify some things.

I just got my PFC last night. brief history:

its used. got it from a friend. He said he didnt know much about it, so he sent it to jason at rx7 store who tuned it for "stock". friend put it in and it ran at idle. thats about as far as he went with it. hes going LS1

anyway. i do not have the commander. but i do have access to datalogit tonight.

question: i can only assume that the tune from Jason, was re-setting it to the base map(fd3s4,newer model) Can i install this and drive it to where the datalogit is safely???????

mods are very few. DP, Apexi intakes ,thats it for power. others are ,koyo radiator, delete double throttle, and AWS. greddy elbow, and blitz sbc id boost controller, running stock boost pattern.

school me if you would please. ALL input is appreciated. im trying to learn ANYTHING you want to mention about the PFC!

If that is all you have done to the car, I would just drive there with ZERO boost, reset the PFC with the datalogit and run it. The BASE MOD MAP, which is what comes with the newer ones, is plenty safe for what you have done to the car as long as you don't plan on boosting over 11-12psi. I would check to make sure that the base mod map is what you have, the guy with the datalogit should have one or know where to to find it and how to tell.

You may want to save the setting/maps on it just for comparison later.

The base map is plenty safe for an intake and exhaust, if you keep the main cat. converter. There are alot of little things that could be tweeked to make it run better and possibly safer. You need to PM Chuck(cewrx7r1) and get his notes, they are very useful for explaining all the setting in the dataloggit.

If it's the newer one it should.
