Quick Acting AIT Sensor

I have been wondering this for some time but if I were to create a circuit that emulates the output of the stock AIT sensor using a GM open element (quick reacting) sensor would their be any drawbacks? I am always amazed at how long it takes for the sensor to react to boosted air temperatures. I am assuming the sensor never really makes it to the correct temperature as it cannot react quick enough to the change in temperature. I have already relocated the stock sensor to the tb elbow. Any thoughts?

Sounds like it might work well, as long as you got the wiring done correctly. (I'm kind of scared of electrical )

The AIT sensor is a thermistor which is a resitor that changes resistance with temperature change. This resistance change affects the voltage felt by some circuit in the PFC. This is what would need to be emulated.

If you could take a faster reacting sensor, and build a circuit to drop the same voltgae as the stock unit, then you would have done it.

I took my stock sensor and carefully sanded the outter black protective plastic from the tip until the sensor could be seen. It is more of a clear color. This helped to speed it up some as the outter cover act as an insulator.
