Talking Question for Chuck

Hey man, I had a couple questions for you if you dont mind.

What wideband are you running and does it work well with the datalogit as far as dataloging is concerned.

What plugs do you run? We have a fairly similar set up and I'm ordering some plugs today. I was wondering what you run. I've been running 9's all the way around and am cinsidering running all 10.5's or maybe running 10.5's in the leading and 9's in the trailing. What do you think?

BTW - I posted this to Chuck cause I think we have a similar set up but anyone feel free to respond.
Thanks man,
STEPHEN

Our "test group" has the M&W Ignitions

http://www.mwignitions.com/main.html

UEGO wide band using the 5 volt output (it also has the 1 volt lambda output) to the DATALOGIT. That is what Kyle and I were using this last weekend on his car to log with.

I am running all non-platinum 9s. Have not had any fouling problems even in winter. But then Houston does not get that cold or at lease not for over 12 hours. If you are not producing around 400+ hp and running above 14PSI boost, I do not think 10.5s would help any.

At that range fouling is easy if running rich and not under heavy boost. We had to pull the 10s out of Kyle's engine for initial testing because they were fouling at 12-14psi boost with AFRs in the mid 10s.

Thats kinda what I figured about the plugs, I dont think I'm tuned near enough to switch over to 10.5's. I'm probably way too rich. I guess I'll stick with 9's for now

How do you like the M&W products so far? Are you using thier wideband products as well as the ignition stuff? The touchscreen display they offer is pretty bad ***.....I didnt see a price though, I'm guessing its very pricey. What all did you guys have to buy just to get the a/f ratio to the datalogit, it looks like it has its own software. Have you checked it against any other widebands to compare a/f and speed

Wow, sorry for so many questions but I'm on the path to a good wideband that will work with my datalogit and dont want to spend a ton of $$$ on something I wont like.

Thanks for the help,
STEPHEN

The group did look at some others and were more impressed with the M&W unit. They calibrate each O2 sensor with a replaceable chip that is included with it.
Thus any replacement sensor will read exactly like your previous one. That is a rare feature. In fact, we had to wait a while for ours because at the time M&W was not satisfied with the last shipment of O2 sensors that they had received. They sent them back due to being out of specs. Now that is quality control!

We got ours through a speed shop in Europe that had the lowest price. The UEGO is more expensive but is high end. We paid about $1200. You can use it directly into a lap top, palm, on to the DATALOGIT and then to the pcs. Had to put on a connector to the 5volt output cable that would interface to the pcs.
