PowerFC repair service
First, i'm not sure if this is allowed on this section of the forum. If not, please let me know, or move it where it belongs. I figured this was the perfect place since it's directly related to the Apexi PowerFC...
As some of you probably know, i also offer a repair service for Apexi PowerFC. I've done a couple thru facebook sell pages, everybody has been pleased so far. I've included some pictures of the ones i did. I can also buy broken PowerFC you don't want to get fixed. I started by buying broken ones off Facebook pages, fixing them and selling them locally. I made a bench testing station, which is still a work in progress, to test every input/output on them.
Pricing, which include shipping back to you in US/Canada is as follow :
130$ USD for basic inspection and shipping back.
Plus actual cost of fixing which have to be determined by what is needed. Usually in the 30$ range.
If it turns out your PFC is not repairable (blown CPU, water damage, etc) i'll only charge 80$ USD including shipping back
I can also save your tune and send it to you by email for an extra 20$. PFC have a tendency to loose their maps at random, seen it happen to many times.
Please use USPS for shipping, all the other companies charges me crazy custom fees at the borders. Also don't declare crazy value. I usually declare them as broken electronics with value of 10$ to avoid custom fees. If you want to declare more, that's okay with me but please be ready to pay the fees.
Turnaround is usually less than 24hrs from the moment i get you PowerFC to the moment i ship it back. I usually grab the packages on my way back from work, and ship them the next morning on my way to work. I test all my work before shipping back. I've got a pretty good reputation on the Quebec RX7 groups, i ain't the kind of guy that is gonna run away or loose my name for money. Everything goes thru Paypal to protect both the buyer and me.
I've got most of the parts in stock, and also got some PowerFC for parts that had blown CPU.
Here is a video of the bench tester i made
Most common problems on theses that i fix are :
- Bad 5v reference signal
- Blown injector driver
- Blown fuel pump driver
- Random output blown
- Blown 12v line due to bad wiring

I have a power fc which does not trigger the efan. Verified this by checking continuity to ground for the check connector banzai uses to control efan relay. Do you offer repairs to this? Tired of running it constantly on.

I had my PFC repaired by Str3atWarrior a few weeks ago...took far more time to ship than for him to repair it. Excellent communication and his pricing for my issue (dead fuel pump driver) was almost criminally low.
It is best to contact Str3atWarrior on Facebook for quickest response.

I just wanted to add my experience with Michael Gagne's services in case anybody is on the fence. Earlier this year I shipped him my cluster and power commander for repair and have since been very happy with the work he has done. My cluster suffered from a couple of bad transistors and leaky caps and as a result I only had a fuel gauge. Michael was able to repair it and sent me photos and videos of his process. Shipping was fast and easy. As I was so happy with the work he preformed on my cluster I decided to sent him my Power Commander for a new lcd screen. Again, he was extremely transparent with his process and I am very happy with how my power commander turned out.
The dude is a real upstanding guy and I trust him with any repairs he says he can do.
